Helping your baby learn
There are many things you can do to help your baby learn new skills. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Parents have the most important role to play in helping their babies to learn new skills. So, even though your baby can’t talk back, you should feel free to talk and smile as much as you want, as this will help your baby’s speech to develop.
‘Making things happen’ fascinates babies
Even something as simple as a sealed plastic container filled with rice or pasta can intrigue them. Holding it will help your baby practice using her hand and finger muscles, and the new exciting noise will surprise and entertain her.
Bath time becomes more fun as your baby learns that when she moves her body she can make things happen – like making little splashes of water.
But do keep extra towels and a mop close to hand.
