Your tiny baby isn’t so tiny any more. At 27 or 28cm long, he now weighs around 9oz. As his hearing and recognition improves, he’s becoming more responsive to your voice. His face and body look much more like those of a newborn, although his skin is still transparent and he hasn’t yet developed a layer of fat.
While vitamin A is an important vitamin for good health, taking too much during pregnancy can cause a problem for your baby. So be sure to check any vitamin supplements you are taking with your doctor and avoid foods naturally rich in vitamin A, including liver, liver pates and spreads.
Vitamin A can also be found in a different form in lots of brightly coloured fruit and vegetables. Go for reds, oranges and yellows to boost your intake of this important nutrient – think of deep red and bright yellow peppers, fresh carrot and ripe mangoes.
