Your baby now measures about 30cm (that’s about the length of a ruler or the width of a magazine) and weighs-in at a fast-growing 1lb 3oz. According to medical experts, he’s also ‘viable’, meaning that if he was to be born now, he’d have a reasonable chance of survival in a special care baby unit.
Looking after your immune system will help to keep you strong during your pregnancy. Healthy eating, regular exercise and plenty of regular sleep will all boost your immunity during these 40 weeks.
When it comes to your diet, choose foods rich in anti-oxidant vitamins – fruit and vegetables rich in vitamin C, tomatoes and tomato sauces rich in lycopene (another powerful anti-oxidant), as well as adding brightly coloured fruits and vegetables to salads and cooked dishes.
Go for bananas, garlic, onions, leeks and tomatoes as a source of prebiotics –compounds that boost your natural immune defences.
