Help your baby learn
Finding your feet
Your baby just loves the freedom of being able to get around on two feet.
But as he still relies on furniture and other objects for support, he can often lack the confidence to take a big step into wide-open spaces. It's a step into the unknown, which he may simply associate with falling down.
Once he's stable on both feet, start by encouraging your baby to take small steps by standing a little distance away and holding out your arms so he'll walk towards you.
Make sure you praise every effort - especially if he makes it into your arms without falling.
At this stage he starts taking pride in even the smallest achievements, so a little encouragement goes a long way!
